GL Diet

Over the past five years dieting has been a very big topic of conversation. There have been many diets claiming to be the best, with each one offering its own level of benefits. Most recently, GL diets have moved to the forefront. If you are not familiar with a GL diet you should look into it right away if you are interested in staying healthy and losing weight.

The "GL" in GL diet stands for glycemic load. The glycemic load is a way for you to asses how carbohydrates impact your diet. In addition, when you are dealing with glycemic load you will get a more in depth look at your diet as opposed to the glycemic index, or GI diet.

With the glycemic index you are told the pace at which carbohydrates in a certain food turn into sugar. But with that being said you have no idea as to how many carbohydrates are in a particular type of food.

When you are dealing with the glycemic load you get the best of both worlds as you can determine both the speed of conversion to sugar, as well as the overall amount of carbohydrates per serving.

A lot of people love a GL diet because they no longer have to count calories, or stick to a silly no-carb diet. The only thing that you need to be concerned with if you are on a GL diet is eating foods that are low in glycemic load. This will help you to lose weight and stay healthy without having to go to extreme measures.
